Surgery Time Change

Mark's surgery will be tomorrow August 20th AT 7:30 a.m. -

Please pray for the surgeon, Dr. Elwood, to be able to get 100% of the cancer out.

Please pray for a private room - we have requested one but there are no guarantees.

Thank you for all your love and prayers - I will update the blog after we get Mark settled in his room tomorrow afternoon.

Lee

  1. Hey Mark - I'm sorry to hear about the cancer. I don't pray much these days, maybe I should. I've always been hard headed. But I will pray for you and I will tell others to pray also. You were one of my best friends in school and I always enjoyed hanging out. If there is anything you or your family needs, please, just say the word!

  2. Mark, we spoke shortly after your surgery. I'm sorry the colon cancer has metastasized to the liver. As you probably know, the liver is the most common organ to which colon cancer cells migrate. Have the doctors spoken with you about drugs which are NOT traditional chemo, something called "targeted therapy?"

I was at a Men's Health conference recently and met Dr. Gregg Orloff who presented cancer in a way attendees were easily able to comprehend. During that presentation, he spoke at length about the new treatments which focus their power on specific types of cells and cell activity, instead of the traditional chemo which is a general overall poison. Here's his website:
http://www.cancerquest.org. Go to the About Cancer Quest page first so you can understand why he started the organization. Then, study the information that's there.

    God Bless you Mark.

You both know the power of prayer, and this blog was a WONDERFUL way to let us all know what we need to do. Thank you for sharing your personal story with us, and you will be lifted up all day today and beyond.

  5. Mark, I did not realize that you had cancer until I received the invitation to join this blog. Please know that I immediately prayed for you last night and this morning, and will continue to pray for you and your family. I know that you know that God is faithful and he will not leave nor forsake you.
